about your short & sweet shoot

this is my take on a mini session; just enough time to capture some adorable memories running around the beach, splashing in the water, and having fun with your fav humans.

these sessions are scheduled back-to-back, please be mindful of clients before and after your session by arriving on time and ready to go.

what to wear

something comfortable, easy to move in, feels like "you", that you feel cute in.

I'm a big fan of warm neutrals, muted tones, and light colours that make you stand out from the background without making you look out of place. white/cream/beige always photograph beautifully, especially if you're looking for a soft, timeless vibe in your photos.

don't be afraid of a pop of colour or a pattern in one of your outfits.

loose-fitting or flowy clothing adds movement to your photos, lean into the oversized look, or at the very least, make sure what you wear doesn't feel too tight or restrictive. plan to move during your session.

feel free to wear a bathing suit if you'd like to lean into the beachy summer vibe, it's totally up to you (I will have some beach floats and beach balls available to play with and use as props if that's your vibe).

ditch the shoes; going barefoot on the beach is always cute and will save you from cleaning sand out of your shoes later.

what not to wear

bright, neon colours that reflect onto the skin and create unflattering tones

too many patterns (stick to one simple pattern if any at all)

tight, restrictive clothing

logos or text larger than the size of a quarter

parking/housekeeping notes

please be ready to begin your shoot at your scheduled start time and clear the area by the end of your time slot to allow for the next session to begin on time (it's a bit of a walk from the parking area, so try to arrive 5-10 minutes early)

my partner, Jess, will be in the parking area (furthest left side of Beach 1) with our 6 month old, he'll help you find me if you're unsure where to go

bring a change of clothes in case your outfit gets wet or sandy

washrooms/change rooms are available at Presqu'ile if needed

01. what if it rains?

if we need to reschedule due to rain, I'll reach out on the morning of, or at the latest, within 3-4 hours prior to your shoot

02. what if we don't know how to pose or feel awkward in front of the camera?

I've gotchu!!! I'll direct you the entire time, or as much as needed, no need to know how to "pose", promise.

03. are dogs allowed?

the sandy beaches are not dog-friendly; humans only please! (dogs are always welcome at my regular sessions)

04. how long do we wait for our photos?

my current turnaround time is 3-4 weeks and I always aim to deliver as soon as possible (without sacrificing quality).

what if my kids don't behave?

your kids aren't there to sit and smile at the camera, they're there to have fun and spend time with you, and I'll capture all of the best moments. *feel free to bring snacks or bribery if needed, we're all a little food motivated*
